Для открыток обычно используют небольшие мотивы. Из вышивают на канве или полотне и приклеивают на бланк открытки. Это может быть и просто согнутый пополам лист картона, и специальный бланк с паспарту для вышитых открыток. Такой бланк можно сделать и самим. Для этого согнуть лист картона два раза. В центральной части вырезать отверстие нужного вида и размера и подклеить к нему изнутри вышивку, левым клапаном заклеить. Получится обыкновенная открытка, вышивка будет видна только через отверстие в клапане.
Схемы открыток можно поискать на любом сайте, посвященном вышивке.
Кроме того, они публикуются в журналах для вышивальщиц, таких как "Вышиваю крестиком" или "Формула рукоделия". А в Англии издается журнал Cross Stitch Card Shop, целиком и полностью посвященный только вышитым открыткам!
